Link Password Addon Encrypts your Private Bookmarks


You can protect your bookmarks from being accessible by other computer users. You’ll get options to but you are suggested not to protect them once the page they are hidden on has been found. Link Password is a Firefox addon that has the ability to encrypt links in the web browser. This encryption ensures that their original destination cannot be seen just by looking the bookmark. It password protects your confidential data so that no one else can access it.

Simply install Link Password and restart the web browser for it to be effective. Once done, you can directly browse to ‘Bookmarks’. Select a desired bookmarked link (or even the whole folder) from the drop down menu. When you right click on the drop down menu, you’ll see options like ‘Encrypt this link’ or ‘Encrypt this folder’. When you click on it, you’ll be prompted to give a new password that will be used to encrypt it using AES algorithm.
Note: Please remember it as users will need to key in the same password to open the links at later stage. Good still, users can even choose to change the name of the link to completely eliminate the potential guessing of the website links.
