Black Screen after Booting Windows 8

Do you encounter Black screen upon booting your system? The system seems to work properly but all of a sudden when you reboot your system you encounter black screen. This can be either due driver or Hard Disk Drive failure. Here is the tutorial how you can overcome this problem and run your system as usual.
fix Black Screen Boot Windows 8
Black screen at Start up can be little worrying, so follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue on Windows 8 PC.
Enter system into safe mode using F8 key on boot or when the logo appears and perform the following steps.

Fix Windows 8 Black Screen at Start-up

  • First make sure that you have not installed any software that is not compatible with your Windows 8 PC and ultimately leads to black screen or non-functioning system. Undo recently installed utility program and see if helps. At times it has been seen that Apps that don’t go with the OS can cause similar errors and even make your system crash. So, before installing any new OS make sure that you have downloaded the version appropriate to your Windows OS.
  • Open Command prompt and type in Chkdsk. This will start checking for errors on your Windows system and ensure that your system files are intact. If the chkdsk process doesn’t help fixing the issue you can try sfc/scannow command. This scans your system and intact all the corrupted system files.

  • If your screen completely goes black then you can download seatools on other PC and burn it on DVD/CD and insert it into the PC in question. Next, boot using CD to your PC and run Seatools HDD diagnostics i.e. run Short and Long tests on the drive. This will check the health of your disk Drive and indicates if anything is wrong.
If the tests run fails then it clearly indicates a faulty Hard Drive and need to be replaced. In that case consult a hardware expert to get it replaced with same make and model HDD or do it yourself if you have fair knowledge on hardware.
  • If the hard drive tests results a healthy HDD, then move on to either resetting your Windows 8 OS or Re-installing Windows 8. Windows 8 allows reset option to Reset PC or simply do a fresh installation of Windows 8 OS.
Hopefully, the fixes described above will fix your issues with Black screen issues on Windows 8 Startup and ensure a proper functioning OS
